Municipality of Eldoret Selected to Undertake Data Collection Exercise For KIDUSP

Municipality of Eldoret is among ten selected Municipalities undertaking a data collection exercise in a bid to develop tools for implementation of the program “Kenya Integrated Devolution and Urban Support Programme” (KIDUSP).

While addressing the team undertaking the exercise, Municipality Manager Mr.Tito Koiyet noted that there is need for all stakeholders of the programme to be involved from the initial stage of programme set up to ensure that the minimums of infrastructure requirements are taken into consideration keenly.

“Under Kenya Urban Support Programme, Municipality of Eldoret benefited from various infrastructure developments and we appreciate; going forward in the new programme, consideration on project identification and the diagnostic assessment of its resilience is key. A case in study is the storm water drainage design that should consider safety as a priority,” noted Mr. Koiyet.

Ag. Director Physical Planning, Planner Jacktone Kiprop while leading the team in providing data, said that the programme will address Urban planning and Urban resilient infrastructure investments in the Municipalities.
