MUSCO Sacco Members Want Their License Reinstated
Members of MUSCO Sacco of Uasin Gishu county have come out to demonstrate demanding reinstatement of their license.
They called on the Corporative Commissioner David Obonyo to act and ensure that the liquidator placed in charge of the Sacco is removed.
Professor Kebutu Rotich a shareholder of the cooperative says they have had a lot of challenges saying what is being experienced is corruption.
The corporative society has over 3700 and the members are suffering because of the illegal action of the liquidation.
“So far from the time this liquidator has been around they have collected more than 60million from Moi University an over 140million, illegal sell of property of over 20 million and 50 million was in the bank which is insolvent”. Rotich said.
The essence of the liquidator was to pay the loan in the Sacco and they have overstayed for one year and they have no business staying around.
“They have collected over Sh 400milion which has not been accounted for. We want our certificates to be reinstated as it was directed by the senate committee and the liquidators must evict r we will use force,” he said.
He said the liquidators are corrupt and demanded that they vacate the building immediately and handover in their properties and assets and account for all the money that they collected.
“I saved my money since 1995 until last year when I retired as a single mother, I was given nothing from what I expected which was to build my children a house, I have a child who has not finished school and he is at home because of money, I saved 750.000 in MUSCO , but I have gained nothing from it my children are suffering while I have money which I thought was secured for them but they have taken all of it,” he said
They called on president Uhuru Kenyatta together with the governor of Uasin Gishu county Jackson Mandago to intervene and help them.
Eunice Cheptanui said she sacrificed her self-sleeping hungry hoping to get something good in the future but now her children are at home while she hoped to be a millionaire.
