Muslim Faithfuls in Rift Valley Hold Eid Prayers
Muslim Faithfull in Rift valley region have today held Eid prayers where they have called upon the politicians to preach peace ahead of the August poll.
Led by Imam Ali Mohamed of the AL- HIDAYA mosque in Bomet County , The Muslim leaders have also hailed upon the political class to desist from discrediting the Independent Boundary and review Commission IEBC saying such a move was likely to incite Kenyans against the commission.
“We urge politicians to constructively engage with IEBC officials instead of creating political remarks that could see Kenyans lack faith in the commission delivering a credible election and this could be recipe for political violence “Said Imam Ali.
The Muslim leaders have also urged government to implement measures that will caution Kenyans against skyrocketing prices of basic commodities ,“This Years’ Eid is one of the most challenging Economically , the prices of all basic commodities are untenable for most Kenyans that includes the prices of cooking oil and wheat flour , we need more measures to caution Kenyans against the economic hard times “Said Ali.
He further called on Kenyans to maintain peace before, during and after the August polls.
‘I want to call upon Kenyans from all divides to matter the candidate you are supporting to maintain peace since your neighbor will still be your neighborhood even after elections and you should put in mind that we don’t have a spare country,” he said.
He called on thee IEBC to ensure that they conduct free and fair elections that cannot be contested by either party.
Hundreds of Muslim faithful gathered at the Bomet Green stadium today after citing of the moon while other faithful are expected to conduct their Eid prayers tomorrow Sunday
