Nairobi County Workers Call Off Their Strike
Nairobi County Government comes Into Agreement With the Workers Union.
Nairobi County workers have called off the strike after they held a meeting on 29th May 2023 between the County Government and the Kenya County Government Workers Union(KCGWU) to address their grievances.
Resolutions made in the meeting include the failure to clear unremitted third party deduction, payment of illegally deducted PAYE within 7-14 days, all renovations a city hall to be completed by 30th June 2023, payment of the KES 120m pending staff allowances/overtime as well as 80m for retirees to be effected within 7-14days, delayed cases to be resolved by end of July.
All the workers are expected to resume work with immediate effect.
A follow-up meeting on the same will be held on 14th June 2023.
