Nandi County Tops Rift Valley Regional Athletic Championship
Nandi County proved they are the source of champions after sweeping almost everything at the Rift Valley Regional Athletic Championship held in Narok County.
They presented the trophies to Nandi County County Director of Education Muriuki Harrison who thanked them for a job well done.
“I want to thank you for making our County proud, We are proud of you and we will support you as you head to the Nationals, indeed you have proved that our County is the Source of Champions Kudos,” said Harrison after receiving the trophies.
The Nandi CDE stayed with the team in Narok for two days which motivated them to even perform better.
He called on parents to allow their children to also participate in co-curricular activities which will make them all-rounded people.
“I urge parents not to force children to only concentrate on class work but instead allow them to participate in sports, which are now paying equally like academics. Don’t deny your child a chance he might be the Next Kipchoge,” he added.
Nandi County emerged the winner in the overall results followed by Trans- Nzoia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baraingo, and Narok in positions two to five.
The overall Girls’ position also went To Nandi County, the second position went to Trans Nzoia, the third to Baringo, and the fourth to Elgeyo Maraket while Uasin Gishu was satisfied with position five.
Nandi County also scooped the boy’s overall Position followed by Narok, Elgeyo Marakwet, Trans-Nzoia, and Kericho respectively.
