NCCK Warns Youths Against Being Used by Politicians to Cause Violence

Youths have been warned against being used by politicians to cause violence.

Speaking to the press NCCK Northrift Treasurer and Mennonite church Bishop Josephat Kimani said youths should instead be ambassadors of peace.

“I want to call upon youths from allover the country that as we head towards the August polls let’s be ambassadors of peace at should at all costs avoid being used by politicians to cause violence since its their future that they are destroying,” said Bishop Kimani while speaking to the press.

Kenya is expected to hold its general elections August,2022.

“Youths let’s not allow ourselves to be used since we are the one who suffer. The only gift which we can give to Kibaki is to ensure we have peaceful elections,” he added.

He called on politicians during this electionering period to practice political tolerance which will ensure that the country is peaceful before, during and after the general elections.

“I want to urge politicians from all divides that during this electionering period let’s tolerate each whether you are from Azimio or Kenya kwanza, you should campaign peacefully by selling your manifestos and not namecalling and using incitive words . Let’s have political tolerance,” he said.

He called on Christians across the Country to pray for peace before and during three August gemeral elections.

“I want to call upon Christians to pray for the country for us to have a peaceful elections since whoever will win Kenya must move forward,” he said

Bishop Kimani further send a mesage of condolences to the family and friends of retired president Mwai Kibaki who died after a long illness.

“On behalf of NCCK and Shalom Menonite church we want to send our mesage of condolences to the family and friends of our 3rd president Mwai Kibaki,May God give you strength during this hard time of mourning,” he said.
