NEW COUNTY ATTORNEY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER TAKE OATH OFFICE.
County Attorney Ms Naema Somo and CECM Water and Resource Development Mr. Diyad Hujale have taken oath of office this morning at a ceremony presided over by Hon. Lady Rosylane Aganyo, Margistrate Wajir and H.E Governor Amb. Mohamed Abdi Mohamud at the County Headquarters.
Ms Naema was the CECM Lands, Housing and Physical Planing until her appointment as the County Attorney. She has previously served as the County Legal officer before her appointment as CECM Lands and has experience on the work she is expected to perform.
Mr. Diyad Hujale on his part brings in a vast experience in the humanitarian field having worked in various international organisations within and outside the country. His last assignment being Consortium Manager in Mercy Corps, EU-Funded Programme, in Ethiopia.
The Governor congratulated the newly appointed County Attorney and the CECM and encouraged them to lead their departments with excellence. He specifically challenged the County Attorney to address the many litigation the County is involved in which mostly arise out of non-representation at the courts.
The position of County Executive Committee Member became vacant following the resignation of the office holder Mr. Ismail Sheikh to pursue active elective politics.
