No Handshake Please-Governor Bii Warns Raila
Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii has hit the Opposition leader Raila Odinga for threatening to stop his supporters from paying taxes for him to be included in government.
This comes after the opposition leader Raila Odinga threatened to ask his supporters not to pay taxes if the government does not prioritize development in areas that did not vote for him in the August 2022 polls.
Speaking at AIC Teldet Bii said it is impossible for a country to operate without residents paying taxes.
“Raila is on a mission to get the handshake from president William Ruto as he did with the retired president Uhuru Kenyatta a move which cannot succeed. Ruto is a leader who is keen on providing in all regions whether they voted for him or not,” said Uasin Gishu governor.
President William Ruto recently hinted that Kenyan citizens with national Identity cards (IDs) will be expected to have a Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) pin in a bid to increase tax income in the country.
He urged the Azimio leader to give President William Ruto time to deliver development projects and revive the country’s economy saying that the President has no discrimination.
“In 2017 he mobilized his supporters and allies not to buy products from certain companies and he secured a handshake. We want to tell him to leave the president to deliver to Kenyans because he has no tribal discriminations as we saw after he took the Oath of Office he immediately visited Nyanza region,” stated governor Bii.
The Uasin Gishu second governor called on citizens to be mindful of their neighbors and assist them with foodstuffs as Kenyans are going through hard economic times.
He says Kenyans should be their brother’s and sisters’ keepers by assisting them with the little they have.
“Even as major parts of the country continue to face immense drought am calling upon Kenyans from all divides to assist those in need with the little they have, since as I am talking people are losing their lives due to famine,” said Uasin Gishu second governor.
