Northrift Clergy Wants CS George Magoha to Apologize After Doing This to A Muslim Journalist

North Rift Council of Imams and Muslim Preachers of Kenya chairman Sheikh Abubakar Bini has given CS Education George Magoha seven days to apologize over remarks he gave NTV Journalist.

Speaking to the press in Eldoret town Bini termed said they will conduct a mother of all demonstrations if Magoha will not apologize.

“We are giving CS Magoha seven days to apologize to our sister his sentiments undermined her freedom of religion which is enshrined in the constitution,” said Bini while speaking to the press.

The CS education George Magoha is seen targeting, discriminating, and verbally attacking the young Muslim lady journalist based on her religion and referring to her as representing a terrorist organization.
“We are not happy with the sentiments this is a bad move and might lead others to follow suit. We are calling for the resignation of the minister of education, George Magoha for disrespecting Muslims,” he added.
The North Rift Council of Imams and Muslim Preachers of Kenya’s chairman urged the society to respect the Islamic religion including its norms, beliefs, and traditions of operation.

Bini blamed Magoha for discrimination during the time the country is fighting to maximize national cohesion in the forthcoming elections.

“As the country is approaching August elections, we expect the public sectors to maintain unity among individuals to eliminate electoral-related violence during and after elections,”said Bini


Muslims have suffered stigmatization and exclusion for being associated with racial profiling of terrorism in Kenya in the past decade and they are seeking justice and equality in all sectors including education, health, and national security.

Zainab Ahmed a student from Masai Mara University also condemned the utterances terming them as unfortunate.

“The move was uncalled for and as Muslim students, we condemn it with the strongest terms possible, what if she wasn’t a journalist from NTV could her questions be answered or she could be neglected just because she was putting on a Hijab.
