Parents Urged to Monitor Children During December Break
In a recent address at the Chocolate Day celebration, Karen Madam Ann Wado, Managing Director of St. Elizabeth Academy, emphasized the importance of parental vigilance as children approach the lengthy December holiday. She called on parents, guardians, and caretakers to closely monitor their children, who are increasingly exposed to various modern dangers.
Madam Wado praised the strides made by St. Elizabeth Academy in implementing the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC), highlighting its effectiveness in equipping students with practical, lifelong skills. “CBC is phenomenal in skilling the students with hands-on skills,” she stated, noting the academy’s commitment, particularly in agriculture, where students gain direct experience in crop farming and livestock management.
Addressing the sensitive topic of rites of passage, Madam Wado suggested that boys transitioning from Grade 8 to Grade 9 are at the appropriate age for such ceremonies, marking an important milestone in their development.
The call for heightened awareness among parents underscores the academy’s dedication to both educational excellence and the safety of its students during the holiday season.
