Police in Eldoret Nabb Planted Bhang Worth Sh 1.005 Million
Police in Eldoret have netted bhang worth Sh 1.005 Million in Elgon View, Tumaini Estate, Uasin Gishu County.
Speaking to the press, Uasin Gishu deputy police commander Zacheus Ngeno said the crop bhang was found planted in a house.
“Yesterday evening police officers acting on an intelligence that there was a house around Elgon view in an Estate named Tumaini, the bhang crop was found being grown in the house,” he said.
Ngeno said the police officers together with the staff from the National Government Administrative Office went to the house and managed to enter the house and found the crop growing inside the house.
He noted that the crop was later uprooted at the various stages of growth where others were at young stages, seedling while others were fully grown.
“The suspect who was the owner of the house and we are looking for him. The crop was estimated to be of a street value of about 1.005 Milion and is here awaiting further processing into our labs to confirm whether it’s bhang or their substance,” Ngeno added.
He said the suspect hasn’t been arrested where they suspect he has gotten a hint on the same.
“I may not be able to disclose the name of the suspect but he will soon be brought to book. Nobody was in the compound whatsoever,” he said.
“The bhang was planted inside the house at various stages some in the sitting room, other master bedrooms, and some in the living room. The crop was in a structure that looks like a greenhouse where it had light,” he said.

He gave a stern warning to those doing illegal business or planning to do it to refrain since it’s illegal and anyone who will be found will face the full force of the law.
