President William Samoei Ruto has officially arrived in Burundi to attend the 23rd Summit of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). The annual event has attracted over 400 participants, including representatives from the private sector, small-scale traders, policymakers, and civil society organizations.

The summit is focused on enhancing regional integration, particularly through the development of value chains in climate-resilient agriculture, mining, and tourism. This year’s discussions aim to address key challenges and opportunities within the 21-member trading bloc.

In his address, President Ruto is expected to call for collaborative efforts among member states to boost intra-regional commerce and stimulate economic growth. His participation underscores Kenya’s commitment to strengthening ties with its regional partners and fostering sustainable development across COMESA nations.

As the summit progresses, stakeholders will engage in dialogues to explore innovative strategies that support economic resilience and integration in the face of global challenges.
