In a significant national address, President William Ruto emphasized the urgent need for consensus to tackle Kenya’s pressing challenges. Speaking at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi during the signing of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report, Ruto highlighted the importance of collective effort in addressing key national issues.

Accompanied by both government and opposition representatives, President Ruto underscored that Kenya faces critical challenges, including national debt, public expenditure, and corruption. He stressed that finding common ground across political divides is essential for the country’s progress.

“There’s a general consensus that the country requires a unified approach to confront and address long-standing priority national issues,” said Ruto. “These include national debt, public expenditure, and anti-corruption measures, which are vital for creating jobs, opportunities, and wealth.”

Ruto acknowledged that solving these complex issues cannot be achieved by one individual alone. He extended an invitation to leaders from various political backgrounds to collaborate on a comprehensive political arrangement aimed at improving Kenya’s economic situation and fostering national unity.

“I welcome all leaders to work with us to address the current economic situation through a broad-based political arrangement and to rally the country forward,” Ruto stated.

The president expressed confidence in the newly established task force, which will focus on auditing the national debt and implementing strategies to combat corruption. He believes that this initiative will play a crucial role in steering Kenya towards a more prosperous and equitable future.
