President Ruto issues over 1600 title deeds to Kilifi residents

President William Ruto today issued 1692 title deeds to residents from from Kijipwa, Roka Uyombo, Mjanaheri, and Malindi township in Kilifi County.

This is part of the initiatives by the Kenya Kwanza Government to ensure that every Kenyan can secure their land rights and ownership.

Issuing titles deeds to land owners promotes security of tenure and also opens up avenues for development and investment in the region.

President Ruto, who has been on a development tour of the coast region, spoke on development issues in the area and assured that the Government will support the economic growth of the region.

“I assure you that I’ll come back to issue over 17,000 title deeds to Kilifi people so that this area can grow,” said President Ruto.

The President revealed that he has disrupted a plan that was hatched in the past to corruptly allocate part of the Galana Kulalu irrigation scheme to a few individuals. He assured residents that the Galana Kulalu scheme will be used for the intended purpose of producing food through irrigation and creating jobs as well as wealth for Kenyans.

Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Cabinet Secretary Zachariah Njeru, CSs Kithure Kindiki (Interior and National Administration), CS Aisha Jumwa (Public Service, Affirmative action and Gender), Ezekiel Machogu (Education), Salim Mvurya (Mining) and Soipan Tuya ( Environment) accompanied the President.
Lands and Physical Planning PS Generali Nixon Korir, PS Ambassador Julius Bitok(Immigration and Citizen services), Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro, Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani and Speaker of the Senate Amason Kingi among other leaders were also present.
