President Ruto leads groundbreaking ceremony of Lurambi Affordable Housing project

President Dr. William Samoei Ruto this evening led the groundbreaking ceremony of Lurambi affordable housing project in Kakamega County as the Government’s programme to build a minimum of 200,000 affordable housing units progresses.
The initial phase of the project consists of 220 units and the President said it would be expanded to 4,000 houses.

The policy to build 200,000 affordable houses annually is also intended to create jobs and act as an economic stimulus for the Juakali Sector.

President Ruto assured the residents that the Government shall also built 12 more markets in Kakamega County.

The President was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Zachariah Njeru and Housing and Urban Development PS Charles Hinga.

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale, Lurambi MP Mukhwana Titus Khamala, Kakamega Women Representative Elsie Muhanda, UDA Secretary General and former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala were among the leaders who attended the event.
