President Ruto Witnesses Graduation of New Kenya Forest Service Cadets in Gilgil

In a significant event for environmental conservation, H.E. President William Ruto joined Cabinet Secretary for Tourism Rebecca Miano and Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale for the pass-out parade of 102 Kenya Forest Service Inspector Cadets and 467 Forester Trainees on Saturday.

The ceremony, held at the Kenya Forest Service Training College in Gilgil, celebrated the completion of intensive training aimed at enhancing the skills necessary to protect and manage Kenya’s vital forest resources. President Ruto emphasized the government’s commitment to combating deforestation and promoting sustainable forestry practices.

“In the face of climate change and environmental degradation, your role as guardians of our forests is more crucial than ever,” the President stated. He urged the new officers to uphold integrity and dedication in their service.

CS Miano highlighted the importance of sustainable tourism and conservation, noting that healthy forests are essential for biodiversity and tourism in Kenya. She expressed pride in the diversity of the graduating class, reflecting the inclusive nature of Kenya’s conservation efforts.

The event concluded with a call to action for all Kenyans to participate in environmental stewardship and support initiatives aimed at preserving the nation’s natural heritage. As these new officers take on their roles, the government remains committed to providing the necessary resources and support for effective forest management.
