Public Participation on the Uasin Gishu County Health Bill 2022 Kicks Off
The County Government of Uasin Gishu has started public participation on the Uasin Gishu County Health Bill 2022.
This bill will provide for the regulation and management of health care and related.
Speaking during the exercise at the multi-purpose hall, Acting Chief Officer for Health Services Dr. Evans Kiprotich said that the Bill seeks to achieve the convergence of healthcare socio-economics and healthcare responsibilities.
This will be achieved by enabling the development of programs to assist communities in protecting and improving their health, curbing infectious diseases transmission, and planning for natural disasters among other community health emerging issues.
” This Bill is informed by the National Government guidelines and will see improvement in healthcare services. It will also enhance disaster mitigation and improve the socio-economic status of the residents further adding that the policy, in addition to forming an integral segment in the ongoing policy and legal reforms in the health sector”, Dr. Kiprotich said.
These changes are aimed at lowering public spending on healthcare.
