Raila Calls For Boycott Of The Following Products
Opposition Leader Raila Odinga has called on his supporters to boycott services by Safaricom, KCB Bank and Radio Africa Group’s Star Newspaper, accusing them of being biased.
Odinga termed the above as facilitators of the Kenya Kwanza government.”
“We call for the boycott of Safaricom, Kenya Commercial Bank and Radio Africa Media particularly the Star Newspaper who have become the enablers and facilitators of this brutal regime,” Odinga stated
“These corporates have become the enemies of the people and are benefiting from the blood and tears of Kenyans.”
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka echoed Odinga’s sentiments clarifying that the concern against the Star was about unfairness, as he implored the media to be non-partisan in coverage.
“We respect the media and that is why Raila has expressed his gratitude for the continued coverage. But there are those who think that we don’t have rights. We have rights. We call for the media to take fair coverage. We are asking the star to be impartial,” he explained.
Odinga likewise reiterated the coalition’s demands saying that President William Ruto has to ensure they are met, failure to which the outfit would hold rallies every Monday and Thursday beginning next week.
The five demands according to the former Prime Minister are;
The government to lower the cost of living.
Electoral justice. He said President Ruto must agree with the Opposition in constituting the new commission, the IEBC servers to be opened and reinstatement of the ousted ‘Cherera four’ commissioners.
The government to be inclusive and for the president to stop the “ethnicization and commercialization” of public service.
Tribal discrimination. Kenya Kwanza to stop the sacking of civil servants whose crime is serving on the former regime.
The second phase of protests; Azimio to hold rallies every Monday and Thursday.
