Raila Odinga Holding Demonstrations is Uncalled For – Nominated MP
Nominated member of the parliament on a UDA party ticket Joseph Wainaina has hit at the opposition leader Raila Odinga for planning to hold demonstrations.
Speaking to the press Wainana termed the move as uncalled for and ill-intended and that the government should not allow it.
“As leaders from the Rift valley we will not allow demonstrations to take place in this country, it’s time to fix problems facing Kenyans and not demonstrating, our country has problems such as famines, which need to be solved with immediate effect,” said the nominated member of parliament.
This comes after Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga said they will hold countrywide rallies to seek opinions from the public on the petition to remove four IEBC commissioners.
The rallies will be held in Mombasa, Nairobi Nakuru, and Kakamega respectively.
“If the opposition leader wants to participate in the demonstration he should bring his children, and sister to be in the forefront during the demonstration but if its common Kenyans we will not allow it,” said president William Ruto’s close ally.
The IEBC commissioners, dubbed the Cherera Four, are Vice-chairperson Juliana Cherera, Francis Mathenge, Irene Masit, and Justus Nyang’aya
“Those IEBC Commissioners Could have burnt the Country since thye did not follow the law instead they had taken sides. We will not allow being threatened by the opposition that they will demonstrate, there will be no demonstration but IEBC commissioners will be removed at all costs
He says he supports President William Ruto’s warning to the opposition against violent demonstrations as they seek opinions from the public on the four petitions to remove Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners.
“I support president William Ruto’s sentiment since we don’t need demonstration to fix problems facing Kenyans,” he added.
