Register For Subsidised Farm Inputs – Residents Urged
Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has urged farmers in the County to register with their respective Ward Administrators for the County subsidised fertilizer and certified maize seeds.
The County Government fertilizer, the County boss stated, will retail for Ksh 2,900/- per 50 kgs bag. The efforts, he noted, are geared towards ensuring Kakamega County is food secure.
Addressing residents on Friday during the launch of drugs and nonpharms at the Matungu Level 4 hospital, the Governor reminded residents to plant cane inorder to keep East Africa’s Sugar miller, Mumias Sugar Factory, operational.
Governor Barasa further revealed that he held talks with the Company’s CEO imploring him to make sure local residents benefit from employment opportunities offered by the miller.
