Relief For Cane Farmers as Government Writes Off 50B Debts
The government has written off debts amounting to 50 Billion shillings owed by Nzoia sugar company, President Ruto has announced.
Speaking when he visited the sugar mill, President William Ruto said the decision was in a bid to salavage the factory and bring it back to productivity.
The president further declared that his administration to overhaul the company’s management which he blamed for being behind the woes of the mill.
“We must get it right this time round. We can’t be injecting billions that end up in the drain. Nzoia needs new management. That we shall do”, said Ruto.
The President reiterated his relentless pursuit to improve the lives of cane farmers, promising new machines to enhance operations.
“As we write off the burdening debts, we are going to bring in new machines”, He affirmed.
The President’s sentiments were echoed by Governor Kenneth Lusaka saying with the President’s push Nzoia will roar back on its feet.
Lusaka noted that Ruto’s development tour of Bungoma, has been a great success.
“I want to thank President Ruto for his timely visit and bag of goodies for our people.This is just the beginning of our legacy. Expect maximum service delivery”, He assured.
This marks President Ruto’s two day development tour of Bungoma County, as he further, offers Bungoma, Milk coolers, expansion of Malaba and Lwakhakha border roads, 700 bags of subsidized fertile in the next National Government dispatch and many more.
