Residents of Kimuri in Ngeria Ward, Kapseret Sub-County will from early next year have access to adequate water supply for irrigation after the County Government of Uasin Gishu in partnership with Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture established a project in Kimuri Dam.

County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Edward Sawe, while speaking during the ongoing inspection of the Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project (KCSAP) funded project, affirmed the county’s intentions to provide water, saying that water provision remains a priority of Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration with an aim of improving the livelihoods of the residents.

Area MCA, Richard Kering, asked the residents to start learning about modern methods of irrigating their farms as the county works towards helping them to embark on Agribusiness.
Engineer Bob Busungu confirmed that the project is expected to serve the neighbouring schools and about 400 households for irrigation, livestock and domestic purposes. The water project is almost complete.
