Ruto opens gemstone value addition plant
The spirit is to ensure value addition is done within the country. Adding value means creating more opportunities for economic growth and employment as well.
Today President William Ruto officially opened the Gemstone Value Addition & Marketing Centre in Voi, Taita Taveta County.
The centre aims to uplift the well-being of 1,500 artisanal miners engaged in the gemstone mining business. We intend to bolster this sector, by ensuring we do what is of importance for our miners.
I want to register my gratitude to the PS Elijah Mwangi and the entire state department as well as the board of directors and artisanal miners for making the centre a success.
