Schools Vandalized by Bandits in West Pokot to be Reconstructed
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki now says that all schools that were vandalized in West Pokot will be reconstructed by Kenya Defence Forces.
Speaking in West Pokot after addressing a security baraza meeting at Sarmach, West Pokot County, Kindiki said this will ensure that students go back to school just like other students across the Country.
“All schools that were vandalized by bandits and armed criminals in West Pokot County will immediately be reconstructed by the Kenya Defence Forces, supported by NYS officers, reopened, and more teachers recruited and deployed to ensure learning resumes fully and continue uninterrupted,” said the CS Interior.
Kindiki further said that security operations in North Rift Valley, Upper Eastern, North Eastern, and Upper Coast regions primarily aim to silence the guns, restore law, and order and assure residents of their safety and security.
“Once the armed criminals are neutralized and all firearms illegally in the hands of civilians are recovered, the Government will roll out an extensive Marshall Plan to develop these regions, through infrastructure, agriculture, and education, because they are a critical pillar in Kenya’s economic growth and future,” he
The no-nonsense CS directed the establishment of Lami Nyeusi GSU Camp in Sigor Constituency and the establishment of 7 new Divisions and other administrative units.
