Show Compassion To The Less Privileged During Festive Season
Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has urged Christians marking this Christmas festive season to remember the residents who are deemed to be less fortunate in the society by caring and sharing with them.
The Governor made the remarks during the County Christmas tree lighting ceremony that was held at the County Headquarters on Wednesday, where he stressed on the need by Christians to be mindful of the less fortunate in acknowledgement of the reason for the season.
He used the opportunity to invite counsel from all stakeholders of goodwill reiterating that the doors of his administration remain open for consultations on institutional memory and positive counsel.
“We have fully constituted the Executive team that will assist in implementing my six-pillar agenda for the people of Kakamega County; as you break for the festivities, come back a focused team armed with work plans that will fastrack implementation of Government policies and agenda for our people,” FCPA Barasa instructed and expressed his gratitude to the outgoing County Executives for their selfless service to residents.
He encouraged youth, women and people with disabilities to engage in business activities including agribusiness saying it will improve the County’s economy.
The Governor also thanked all the organisations that donated and contributed towards the event despite having been a short notice.
