Sisibopay Revenue System to be Rolled Out to Achieve More Efficiently
The Department of Information Communication and Technology is on course to roll out the County revenue system dubbed *”Sisibopay”*.
The County Government is adopting a new revenue collection system, Sisibopay as it moves to bring an impetus of efficiency and management of funds in a cashless system.
The new revenue system facilitates cashless payment for parking, cess, markets and slaughter house levies. Mwananchi needs to dial **764#* and follow prompts to create account and pay for the various revenue streams.
Chief Officer for ICT and Innovation, Felix Kimaru says: “We are a technical advisory and our role is to ensure that the County Government gets good systems that deliver services as needed.”
“So basically, we are working to see to it that the system works well and the people of Uasin Gishu get to access government services as they need to,” says Kimaru.
Director of ICT, Titus Kimaiyo, while monitoring parking payments along the streets of Eldoret, said the department will be offering support to the various revenue units during the rollout.
Mr Kimaiyo said ICT will be implementing the system in a modular basis to accomodate and incorporate more services.
“The department will be offering technical support in terms of training of revenue staff and general system support including hosting.”
“And then going forward, we shall be improving the system to incorporate more services as well as make sure that it becomes more and more efficient,” added Kimaiyo.
The new system has been touted to come in handy even as the county government looks to collect Ksh 2 billion in own source revenue collection, in this financial year.
