Six Convicted in George Thuo Murder Case Await Sentencing

In a significant development in the long-standing case surrounding the murder of former Juja MP George Thuo, six individuals convicted of his murder will face sentencing today at the Milimani High Court. The verdict, delivered by Justice Roslyn Korir on April 19, marks a pivotal moment in a legal saga that began over a decade ago.

George Thuo, a prominent figure in Kenyan politics, tragically lost his life in 2013 after consuming a poisoned drink at Porkies Club in Thika. The lethal substance identified as Cyhalothrine pesticide caused Thuo to suffer haemorrhagic gastroenteritis, ultimately leading to his rapid demise.

The convicted individuals include Paul Wainaina Boiyo, the proprietor of Porkies Club where the fatal incident occurred, Thuo’s aide Christopher Lumbazio Andika, DJs Andrew Karanja Wainaina and Samuel Kuria Ngugi, waitress Esther Ndinda Mulinge, and club patron Ruth Watahi Irungu. The prosecution successfully presented compelling forensic evidence during the trial, establishing that Thuo ingested the toxic substance at the club.
