Soy MP David Kiplagat commended the vital role of women in economic development as he presided over the distribution of cheques amounting to Ksh 11,242,550 to 130 women’s groups at Chepkigen Grounds today.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance women’s contributions to Kenya’s economy through entrepreneurial ventures and labor market participation.
In his address, MP Kiplagat emphasized the importance of equitable access to financial services for women, highlighting their exceptional skills in savings and income generation. He stressed that this financial support will empower women to expand their businesses, improve community livelihoods, and drive economic growth in the region.
The ceremony was attended by several prominent leaders, including Uasin Gishu County Senator Hon. Jackson Mandago, MP Johanna Ngeno (Emurwo Dikir), CPA Julius Ruto (Kesses), and MCA Ezekiel Kodi (Ziwa Ward), who all expressed their support for the initiative.
MP Kiplagat expressed optimism that the funding would not only stimulate economic activity but also promote gender equality by providing women with the resources needed to succeed and contribute more effectively to their communities.
