Suspect Arrested in Connection with Brutal Murder of Willis Ayieko
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a key suspect in connection with the brutal murder of Willis Ayieko, the HR manager at Wells Fargo, whose death has shocked many. The suspect was apprehended in Bondo sub-county, Siaya County, following a thorough investigation.
According to the DCI, the latest arrest was made possible by crucial information from one of the previously detained suspects. During a reenactment of the crime scene, one of the arrested individuals positively identified the suspect’s house as the location where Ayieko was allegedly tortured before being killed. The body of the deceased was later discovered a short distance away, less than 400 meters from the suspect’s house in Luanda Doho, Kisa East, Kakamega County.
Detectives revealed that they are continuing to investigate the case, with at least six more individuals still under investigation for their potential involvement in Ayieko’s murder. Four suspects have been arrested so far, and one of them has been confirmed to have been at the scene of the crime.
Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin confirmed the ongoing efforts to track down the remaining members of the gang believed to be responsible for the crime. While the exact motive for the murder remains unclear, authorities are confident that progress is being made in solving the case.
Ayieko, who had been a senior HR manager at Wells Fargo, will be laid to rest on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at his ancestral home in Ong’iende village, Central Alego, Siaya County. A funeral service was held in his honor on Thursday, November 7, at All Saints’ Cathedral in Nairobi, before his body was transported to his home for burial.
As investigations continue, the family and community remain hopeful for justice as the authorities close in on the perpetrators behind this senseless crime.
