The State of the Art modern Eldoret Arboretum to be Opened Soon
The State of the Art modern Eldoret arboretum is now completed and will soon be commissioned.
This was the flagship project of Governor Jackson Mandago under the Kenya Urban Support Program (KUSP) having met all its requirements as intended during its implementation.
The arboretum upon commissioning will be an excellent place for the residents of Uasin Gishu County and beyond to partake in recreational activities, research plant species, take walks and jog around.
They will be able to view Eldoret town and its environs from the 5-storey tower built by the arboretum.
Part of the conditions to be given the city status is the establishment of an Arboretum and green spaces are key factors.
The project is complete as the watch tower has already been roofed, gazebos built, paved walkways completed, the main gate is at the final stages, and cabro layed vehicle parking area is at its final stages.
The County has established several green spaces, where the Arboretum is the game changer as it will provide an avenue for residents, students, and visitors to take nature walks, prayers, and recreation activities in it. The watch tower will provide a viewing experience of Eldoret town and its surroundings.
The Nandi Park beautification project is already serving the residents who take time to rest while the 64 Street beautification project has also been completed.
