Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Boss Sholei now says the price of Unga will only go down if farmers will plant maize.

She says demonstrations will not reduce the cost of Unga.

“I watched with allot of amusement when Raila Odinga was on the streets demonstrating so that the cost of Unga can be reduced. “The cost of Unga cannot be reduced by vandalism in the streets, but it can only come down if we conserve our environment, the reason why we have drought today is because we depleted our forest cover then we end up without food,” saidbthr National Assembly deputy speaker.

Sholei noted that there is direct correlation between the forest cover and the productiin food.

” Another way to reduce the cost of Unga is to subsidize fertilizer and the programs is on when production increases the cost goes down. Somebody should teach Raila about the law of demand and supply and not going to the streets at all,” she added.

“When we plant maize is when the cost of flour will go down,” she said.

The Uasin Gishu women Representative noted that the server will not be opened as demanded by the opposition leader Raila Odinga.

“The polling station is the server so I don’t know who raila is cheating because we voted and counted votes at the polling stations and the results were also announced there. The one that was announced by Chebukati was the one at the polling stations that is the polling station is the server and system,” she said.

She spoke during the annual 4×4 Conservation Group Tree planting event at Kapseret Forest, Uasin Gishu.

About 10,000 trees will be planted this Easter.

“The 4×4 motto is ” without rain, there is no mud, and without mud, there is no fun”We endorse this by encouraging every Kenyan to plant trees for conservation of the environment and in solidarity with the president’s directive,”she says.
