TOLGOS’ GOVERNMENT OPENS A MATERNITY IN MARON -MARICHOR
The county government department of Health Services opened a maternity at Maron dispensary on Tuesday.
Maron Marichor is located in Embobut Embolot Ward and this is one of the facilities that serve a large population.
This is a milestone in healthcare at the far-flung areas of the County where residents used to travel long distances to access the vital services in the past.
Chief Officer Mary Kipchumba graced the event that was also attended by area Member of the County Assembly Paul Lomsani.
Addressing the occasion, Mrs Kipchumba said that the county government was committed towards increasing investment in health care adding that governor Tolgos ‘ administration has purchased an ambulance for Embobut Embolot Ward which is due for delivery.
“To ensure all expectant mothers are safe and that they get quality health services, I encourage mothers to deliver in the nearest maternity facility. Let’s embrace hospital delivery because it will reduce maternal and Neonatal deaths,” Kipchumba urged the community.
At thesame time, the department carried out outreach services where the community members were screened for cancer, Hypertension and diabetes.
They were also offered family planning services and Covid vaccine.
