TopHill Hospital Hosts Free Health Talk and Wellness Check-Up at Kimaam PAG Church, Kapsabet
TopHill Hospital reinforced its dedication to community health by organizing a free health talk and wellness check-up event at Kimaam PAG Church in Kapsabet. The event, which began with a heartfelt church service, provided crucial medical services to over 200 residents, many of whom received free check-ups, medication, and referrals for further care.
David Chebii, General Manager of TopHill Hospital, representing CEO Dr. F. Koech, highlighted the hospital’s commitment to ensuring healthcare reaches the grassroots. “Your health matters, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone in our community has access to the care they deserve. This initiative reflects our dedication to improving healthcare access and building a healthier society,” said Chebii.
Chebii also took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of registering with the Social Health Authority (SHA), noting its ability to significantly ease the financial burden of healthcare. “We urge residents to register with SHA, which can cover medical bills of up to Ksh 300,000. At TopHill, we treat all patients—whether insured, employed, or unemployed—and we accept all forms of insurance, including SHA. Our CEO, Dr. Koech, has invested in cutting-edge medical technology, including a 1.5 Tesla MRI machine for precise diagnostics, enabling us to treat all manner of diseases effectively,” he explained.
Chebii also highlighted the hospital’s robust capacity, with over 100 beds for in-patients, a team of 130 qualified medical professionals, and the ability to handle more than 200 patients daily. These resources underscore TopHill’s capability to provide exceptional care for the community.
Ramona Kilel, Public Relations Officer at TopHill Hospital, reinforced the importance of preventive healthcare during the event. “We are here to sensitize the community on the importance of preventive measures because we believe that preventing diseases is better than treating them. We also want to emphasize the benefits of SHA registration, which can significantly reduce the financial burden of accessing healthcare. For those who haven’t registered, please take this step for the sake of your health and your family’s well-being,” said Kilel.
The hospital’s initiative received glowing praise from the local community. Rev. Elijah Maiyo, the host pastor at Kimaam PAG Church, lauded the hospital for bringing quality healthcare to the grassroots. “This program has been a blessing to our church members, especially those who cannot afford to travel to Eldoret for medical services. Preventive healthcare is essential, and this initiative has given us access to qualified doctors and proper prescriptions. I personally experienced TopHill’s exceptional care, and today I am healthy. We thank the hospital for their continued commitment to our community,” he remarked.
Church members and beneficiaries were equally appreciative. Joyce Choge, a resident who received care during the event, called for the hospital to conduct similar events regularly. “Most of us cannot afford to travel to Eldoret due to financial constraints, but today, we’ve been able to receive quality medical care right here in our village. We are grateful to TopHill Hospital for this initiative, and we pray for blessings upon them,” she said.
The event not only addressed the immediate medical needs of residents but also educated them on preventive measures such as proper nutrition, regular health check-ups, and lifestyle adjustments to enhance overall well-being.
TopHill Hospital’s outreach reflects its unwavering commitment to bridging healthcare gaps in rural areas, ensuring that even the most underserved populations have access to quality medical services. The hospital has pledged to continue its community health initiatives, bringing advanced technology, qualified professionals, and exceptional care closer to the people who need it most.
