Two Students Die in a Grisly Road Accident
In a painful incident along the Karbarnet-Marigat Road in Baringo County, the bus belonging to Kapsabet
Boys High School perished in an accident at Patkawanin area.
According to the Baringo County Commissioner, Stephen Kutwa, said that,’’ the accident has claimed the
lives of two individuals and left several others injured. Among the casualties, one teacher and one
student lost their lives, while five students sustained serious injuries. Additionally, 19 students suffered
minor injuries in the tragic event.
Reports from the police indicate that the injured students have been promptly taken to Kabarnet and
Marigat Mission hospitals, as well as the Baringo County Referral Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been transported to the mortuary at Kabarnet level 4
hospital.
The bus was carrying a total of 61 students along with a teacher, who were on the route to Marigat.
Unfortunately, the driver lost control of the vehicle at a serious crisis, causing it to turn off the road. The
bus then fell several times before finally approaching to a steep slope where the accident takes place.
This sad incident has sent shockwaves through the community and has prompted authorities to
investigate the circumstances that cause the accident.
