Uasin Gishu Cleric Message to Raila and Ruto As they Await Supreme Court Ruling
The Uasin Gishu Gospel Ministers chairman Bishop Wilson Kurui has urged opposition leader Raila Odinga and President-elect William Ruto to accept the court’s ruling.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town, Bishop Kurui said this will bring peace after highly contested presidential elections.
“As religious leaders from the region we want to urge both the opposition leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto who is the president-elect to accept the Court ruling regarding the contested presidential election whichever way it will come,” said the Uasin Gishu Gospel Ministers Chairman.
This comes after the opposition leader Raila Odinga and the Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga went to Court disputing the results of the just concluded presidential elections.
“No leader should intimidate Kenyans if the ruling will not favor him, we are both Kenyans and anyone who will win will serve as all and not a particular person therefore let us embrace each other,” said Bishop Kurui.
He called on Kenyans to remain calm as they await the Supreme Court ruling on the disputed presidential elections.
“We know we have a supreme court case where Odinga is challenging elections of the president-elect William Ruto, truth will be seen. Let us maintain peace and continue living as brothers and sisters as we used to and we should not allow politics to divide us,” Bishop Kurui added.
“I Advise Raila Odinga to leave a good legacy by accepting results since he has vied for 5 times without winning, lets’s not be leaders who want to make the country chaotic but peace,” he said.
