Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii to Conduct Headcount of All County Staff

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii now says that his administration will conduct a headcount of all county workers to ensure that there are no ghost workers.

Speaking to the press after he held his first meeting with all the county staff at the county headquarters ground Bii said this will ensure that only legit workers are paid with taxpayers money.

“As we settle down, we shall do a staff headcount and a comprehensive human resource audit to ascertain the county workforce and rid of any ghost workers. This will also ensure that public funds are put into good use,” said the Uasin Gishu County’s second governor.

He said that he has directed his deputy Eng Barorot to ensure that the welfare of County staff is well taken care of.

“To make sure that staff welfare is well taken care of, I have asked my Deputy to look into all the human resource issues. We will work on promotions, provision of uniforms to our medical and inspectorate officers among other welfare issues,” Bii added.

The Uasin Gishu governor noted that his administration will also review the policy on drug distribution.

“I also wish to inform the public that we will be reviewing the policy on drug distribution to our health facilities to ensure the KEMSA delivers drugs to our hospitals directly. We will however keep the buffer stocks at the County Drugs and Medical Suppliers Store,”

He says Devolution is meant to take services closer to the people in the most effective way.

“My government shall designate more staff to work in sub-county and Ward levels since as a “Governor wa Raiya” I will focus more on the grassroots. I will be available in the villages more than in my office,” he said.

Earlier Bii the management of Eldoret Water and Sanitation (ELDOWAS) in a bid to understand how they are addressing the water question in our county. Working together is imperative for the full realization of the economic objectives we promised the people of Uasin Gishu.

“I will also put in place a task force to look into the status of our roadworks machinery and equipment as well as the entire fleet of vehicles because we want nothing but value for money to the Uasin Gishu,” he said.
