Uasin Gishu Registers Victory at Kicosca Games
Uasin Gishu kicked off their Kicosca Games with victories in volleyball, football, pool, and tug of war, among other disciplines.
Former champions Uasin Gishu women’s volleyball team started their Kicosca title reclamation campaign on a high as they beat Tana River in their opening match.
At the volleyball fixtures played at ASK Meru, the champions made their interest known, seeing off Tana River in 3-0 sets of 25-16, 25-11 and 25-22. They made it nine points after beating Vihiga 3-0 in the evening.
The men’s volleyball team humiliated Kakamega 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-13) to top Pool H.
In football men, Uasin Gishu overpowered Bungoma 2-1 in matches played at Gikumene Girls. They shared spoils with Nakuru 0-0 to make it four points and come top of Pool D.
Uasin Gishu pool team beat Machakos 3-0 in their first pool match while Scrabble places second to Nairobi as of Tuesday evening tallies.
Uasin Gishu dismantled Kericho to scoop all three points in the men’s tug-of-war. The champions place third in draughts with 10 points from 10 games played on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Eng John Barorot will be leading a cast of four golfers from Uasin Gishu in teeing off at Nanyuki Golf Course on Wednesday morning.
