UDA party youth leader urges youth and Kenyans to vote in large numbers as well as to accept the Elections results ,
National United Democratic Alliance party Youth leader David Maina, has urged Kenyans and aspirants to use the courts as a channel of solving political disputes may arise after the August 9 elections.
According to Maina,The 2007 elections experienced political violence when aspirants opted to go the streets rather than the courts to seek redress after disputing the Results.
“The year 2007,people did not go to court, and the nation burnt down, the year 2013 people went to the court and peace prevailed, we are asking the Kenyan Youth and Political leaders to use the courts as an arbitrator rather than rally the youth to cause political mayhem “Maina said.
He said presenting the disputes in a court of law is one way of practicing democratic rights and that will promote peace and national cohesion.
Maina has also urged youth to come out in large numbers to exercise their democratic right on voting in leaders who will bring about economic transformation as well as address the myriad challenges affecting the youth .
“I urge youth to ensure they all participate in the election and vote in leaders , I plead with them to maintain peace as this country cannot develop without peace ,”advised Maina.
Campaigns officially ended on Saturday at 6pm.The General election is anticipated to kick off tomorrow on Tuesday 9th with polling stations opening as early as 6 pm .
