Hours after Odm leader and Azimio Coalition presidential candidate Raila Odiga unpacked his manifesto at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, a section of Uasin Gishu county residents have been impressed by Raila’s agenda aiming at improving the health sector by making it affordable and easily accessible by the common mwananchi.

The residents also hailed Raila’s promise of a free education policy from kindergarten to university.

“Everyone knows that we have two things that usually make us run bankrupt ,that’s school fees and hospital bills in case of sickness and anybody who will save us from these two bills we will vote them in ,and we thank Raila Odinga we will save more money in our pockets now.” Said, oyula ,Uasin Gishu resident.

The residents cited that the sectors of health and education are crucial, noting that most Kenyans spend nearly more than half of their earnings on school fees and medical bills , and this has hindered many in venturing into development activities.

“Am going to vote in Raila because of his agenda of free education from nursery to university because myself I never went to school because I didn’t have school fees, and it is going to come through since Raila keeps his promises, like he promised free secondary education with the former president the late Mwai Kibaki and indeed we have had free secondary and primary education.” Mzee sudi said.

“Baba care is good at least it will favor and help the poor to access health care across the country, said Magdalene ,”free education is the best service we can get from our government, we will have more educated Kenyans now seeking jobs outside the country and earn a lot of foreign exchange needed for economic growth .” She added

The residents have also congratulated Raila’s agenda on the fight against corruption , saying corruption has contributed to the high cost living hence hindering implementation of the government agendas.

Workers in The Jua kali sector in Eldoret are hopeful that the azimio manifesto that promises provision of academic certificates will open opportunities for them to access government tenders.

“according to yesterday’s Railas manifesto, we have three areas that affect us directly one is about the MSMEs FUND, if we get this money and are guided on how to spend it ,that will be a great boost , secondly we have skills but can’t access or get contracts from the county government because we do not have certificates the certification to the juakali workers will be a great opportunity”said kariuki,a jua kali artisan in Eldoret.
