We Will Further Lower Fertilizer Prices-DP Rigathi Gachagua
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has promised to further lower fertilizer prices.
Gachagua says this will help in lowering the cost of production for farmers.
Fifty kilograms of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilizer is currently retailing at Ksh.3,500 following a subsidy in September.
“We will also ensure that we have enough fertilizer come the next planting season and we are working towards reducing the prices further to the promised Sh2,500,” said the deputy president.
He says this will benefit and encourage farmers to produce enough for the country.
DP Gachagua further said that they are focusing on the quest of fulfilling their promises to Kenyans.
“Our president and I ascended to power because you voted us in. We are thankful for your decision and for promoting peace throughout the election period. We have now embarked on a journey to deliver our promises, ” said DP Gachagua.
He further said that President William Ruto is working towards making sure that there is sustainable development which is anticipated for by the hustler nation.
He pledged his support to his coequal.
“Your co-existence regardless of your diversity has encouraged me to work closely with the president to enable him to accomplish what he has in mind for you in his service. Your labor for peaceful co-existence will be rewarded. Do not cease, ” added DP Gachagua.
The agriculture sector is aiming at sustaining Kenya`s population building upon the lifting of the ban on Genetically Modified Organisms barely a week ago.
Deputy President was accompanied by National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichungwa, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, CS Kipchumba Murkomen, and Elgeyo Governor Wisley Rotich.
