What DP Gachagua said to Muslims During Iftar
President William Ruto together with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua joined the Muslim faithful in marking Iftar at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) during the Ramadan celebrations being observed worldwide.
Deputy President Rigathi congratulated Muslims for being straightforward people who don’t like conflicts and backed the appointment of Cabinet Secretary Adan Duale for being straightforward and the support given to them during the previous general election.
“Duale stood with us when everybody was threatened by the previous government to bring down their businesses, and this is why we elected him as cabinet secretary of Defense forces because he is a straightforward person.” Said Gachagua.
Speaking at the Iftar, Gachagua reminded Muslims of the good things President Ruto has done for the Northeastern people, like participating in the construction of classes and mosques and donating food during the dry season.
“President Ruto has done a lot of work in Muslim Community, like the construction of classrooms, Mosques contributing to women empowerment and contributing to those students traveling abroad for education.” Added the Dp.
He has also requested them to remember the president whenever he will need them as he has remembered them as they needed him. Gachagua assured them they will not die because of hunger because the president has invested to make sure there is enough food.
“He also requested us to visit places like Mandera, Garissa, Marsabit, Tana River, and Wajir just to make sure people from that region have enough food during this dry season and nobody dies from hunger.” Requested Gachagua.
Deputy President also passed his apologies to the business people who were affected by the demonstrations that were experienced in the country in the last few weeks that were organized by Azimio la Umoja Leader Raila Odinga.
“My apologies go to those people whose businesses were destroyed during the demonstrations in Eastleigh. We made sure Eastleigh and Nairobi CBD were fully protected because that is our responsibility as the government of Kenya. I also want to assure you if they comeback as they are threatening to, nobody will Set foot in Eastleigh or CBD, because Eastleigh is a serious player in our economy and the government will not allow anyone to destroy property in this country, so do your business in peace and expand it.” Assured Gachagua.
