Youth Protest in Nandi Hills Over Blogger’s Arrest

Demonstrations erupted today in Chepkunyuk Ward, Nandi Hills Constituency, as local youths took to the Himaki-Kapsabet Highway to protest the arrest of blogger Waziri Waziri. Waziri, who had recently been detained in Nandi County, is currently held at Muthaiga Police Station in Nairobi.

The arrest came after Waziri was accused of using a pseudonym to scrutinize Felix Kosgey, the Chairman of Kaimosi Agricultural Training Center and Head of Public Service (HoPS). According to sources, the blogger’s actions were allegedly aimed at exposing issues related to Kosgey’s management at the training center.

The protesters expressed their frustration with the arrest, arguing that it is an attempt to silence dissent and limit freedom of expression. They called for Waziri’s immediate release and demanded transparency in the handling of his case.

The situation remains tense as authorities manage the protest and address the allegations against the detained blogger. The community is closely watching developments, with many advocating for a fair investigation into the matter.
