Sub County Administrators, their counterparts at the Ward levels and Liaison Officers should ensure success of county projects, whether directly financed by the exchequer or donor funded, Chief of Staff Dickson Wamocho has called out.
Addressing the cohort which is undergoing training on Climate Change at Mabanga Farmers Training Center in Bungoma County, the CoS affirmed that H.E. George Natembeya, the county governor, is keen on performance.
He noted that Trans Nzoia had been ranked atop in performance in a recent survey based on among others, the ongoing projects, and remained optimistic it shall maintain the position with commissioning and launching of more next year.
The officers were taken through varied Climate related topics including elaboration of the existing Trans Nzoia County Climate Change Fund Act, 2021 and the proposed amendments that seek to enhance the county climate laws.
Equipped with the relevant climate information, the officers will also play essential roles in promoting the success of donor funded programs such as the World Bank Funded – Financing Locally Led Climate Actions (FLLoCA) that is being undertaken by 45 counties in the country.
The workshop was officially opened on Tuesday by the Water, Environment, Natural Resource and Climate Change (WENRCC) Chief Officer Dorothy Nyukuri who challenged the officers to be good ambassadors of Climate Change information back in their areas of jurisdictions.
