ANC party leader Hon. Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday paid a courtesy call to the Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui.

He said they discussed various issues in Nakuru County.

“We discussed education, health, and the economic revival after the COVID-19 pandemic. As a cosmopolitan County, we are champions of a peaceful election and we want to approach the elections from a platform of agenda and policy,” said the Nakuru governor.

Nakuru has been at the epicenter of the election-related challenges we have had in the past like the 2007/08 post-election violence.

“The BBI document sought to address this issue through inclusion by increasing the number of representatives who would have a say in the national dialogue. The matter of increasing CDF for constituencies with a high number of people was also meant to help Kenyans,”

He said even if there are challenges with the implementation of the BBI, components that are helpful to the people should still be adopted.

“We urge parliament and the national leaders to have a conversation on what can be salvaged in the document to help our people. It is time for leaders to have conversations on sound politics and a peaceful election come 2022,” he added.
