PASS LAW TO REGULATE BILLING OF PATIENTS IN PRIVATE HOSPITALS, MANDAGO ASKS MPs
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago EGH has called upon legislators to pass a law that will help regulate the billing of medical services offered to Kenyans in private hospitals.
Mandago laments that nowadays when a patient is admitted, the billing goes higher to millions in a matter of days.
“We need this to be regulated,” Mandago said.
“As the county we are working hard, we are building Ziwa level 5 , Kesses level 4 and burnt forest hospitals to increase the number of public hospitals. We will equip these hospitals with equipment which are in private hospital to address such issues,” he added.
Mandago also noted that more resources should be increased to devolved units as “we still have a shortage of personnel in our health facilities hence need for more resources to devolved units. There is still alot of resources yet to be devolved,” he noted.
Governor Mandago was speaking while presiding over a fundraiser to offset medical bill of the late Solomon Juma who was county Agricultural Extension officer.
County Executive Member for Agriculture Samuel Yego, and his Health Counterpart Dr. Everlyne Rotich were in attendance.
