Nandi County Deputy Governor Hits at the Government for Reducing DP Ruto’s Security

Nandi County Deputy governor Dr. Yulita Mitei Cheruiyot has hit at the government through the Ministry of Interior for reducing deputy president William Ruto’s security.

Speaking to the press in Eldoret town, the Nandi County deputy governor said the move is uncalled for and ill-intended and that president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy both deserve respect and security of high levels.

“As residents from the region where deputy president William Ruto comes from, we are not happy with the re-arrangement of the deputy president’s security, even if its reorganization why have they reduced it from the current 77 to 26,” said Dr. Yulita Mitei Cheruiyot while speaking to the press.

“As citizens, we are not happy we are left wondering if we are serious with the security of our second in command and we do not want to leave room for speculations please take care of the president and deputy the same way,” she said.

She wondered why his security was replaced by the AP instead of GSU as enshrined in the constitution.

“If the constitution says the responsibility of the commandant of GSU is to protect the president and his deputy, residence and state lodges what is that has happened for them make changes, the president you are in charge restore the confidence of citizens of Kenya,” she added.

Dr Yulita Mitei Cheruiyot called on Kenyans to maintain peace before, during, and after the 2022 general elections.

“Let us maintain peace and should refrain from being used by politicians to cause violence, none of his a guest in this nation everybody has the right to be here as Kenyan,” she said.

She advised Kenyans who have not gotten their identity cards to apply for them thereafter take identity cards for them to participate in the forth coming 2022 general elections.
