Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago , has asked local business people to work with his administration in order to hasten recovery from the adverse economic effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He says many businesses were badly affected by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic which almost grounded the economy.

He spoke on Saturday, at Matunda township when he officially opened Oasis Oryx Fuel and service station.

“I want to call upon all businessmen and women to work closely with my government so that they can benefit from the loans that we are offering to cushion them from the effects of coronavirus which has rendered many jobless,” said the Uasin Gishu County boss.

The Governor added that his administration is working with the county assembly to introduce a raft of incentives for economic recovery.

“I am currently involved in a conversation with the County Assembly for them to come up with a bill that will help businesses that were badly affected by the effects of coronavirus,” he added.

He further warned politicians against spreading hate messages ahead of the 2022 general elections.
“Politicians should refrain from using hate messages, instead they should sell their manifesto. Such people should be arrested and charged. we will not shed blood because of politics,” he advised.

County Executive for Trade & Industrialization Dr. Emily Kogos, also present, asked small scale business people to join Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies in order to access affordable loans.
