The County Government of Uasin Gishu has generated a unique number for every bodaboda terminal and in every Sub County in a bid to increase the security of both operators and users.

According to County Executive Committee Member Roads, Transport, Energy and Public Works Eng. Gideon Birir, the operators will be required to write the number on the helmets, reflectors, and motorcycles to help customers know who the owner of the motorcycle is as well as enhance the security of the riders.

“Our aim is to ensure that our bodaboda operators and customers are safe, this will help to reduce cases of insecurity that has always been linked to the bodaboda sector,” said the Uasin Gishu CEC roads.

However, CECM Birir urged the operators and the public to own the more than 70 shades and guard against vandalism or destruction saying the County has invested a lot of money in setting them up.

“We have constructed shade for you make sure that you take good care of it, protect them against vandalism,” he added.
