Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has commissioned a brand new market which will host 1,200 traders.

Speaking during the launch Lenku said the market will operate 24 hours.

“It is a new dawn for Kiserian town. In tandem with our promise in 2017, we have today admitted 1,200 traders to a brand new market which we have constructed at a cost of Sh 100 Million. The new market will decongest the streets of Kiserian Town for ease of movement by motorists and pedestrians,” said the Kajiado governor during the launch.

Lenku reiterated that the market will operate on a 24 hours basis, complete with a standby generator.

“I am determined to continue creating a more business-friendly county by setting up markets in all major towns. To ease the transition of the traders to the new market, I have given them a waiver on all market fees until February next year,” he added.

He promised to continue supporting businesses through financial support to ensure that they thrive businesswise.

“I will keep on supporting our business community to thrive in our growing urban centers. I also call upon them to ensure that they join groups for them to benefit from County and National government funds which are only given to organized groups,” he said.
