Preparations for the Eldoret Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) show 2021 are on course.

Speaking to the press Eldoret ASK show chairperson Susan Seron the show has attracted over 150 exhibitors both local and international.
“We are back after our programs were affected by the effects of coronavirus, our Eldoret ASK Show will kick off on 2nd March and end on 5th March under the theme ‘promoting innovation in agriculture and trade,” said the Eldoret Eldoret ASK show chairperson.

“Governor Jackson Mandago will grace the occasion on the first day, the second day CS Agriculture Peter Munya will be the Chief guest while on the official opening day we are expecting president Uhuru Kenyatta who is our patron to grace the occasion,” she added.

The area MP Dr. Swarup Mishra will be the chief guest during the official closing day on Saturday.

She further said that all coronavirus protocols will be adhered to and there should be no cause of alarm.

“We want to assure farmers and all visitors that all the CoVID-19 protocols will be adhered to where we have enough hand washing points, we will also ensure that everyone has a facemask and also for those who have not been vaccinated we have a place where they will be vaccinated,” she added.

She says they have brought on board lecturers who will be teaching farmers on various sectors such as feed silage making, a component of land preparation, clean milk production, and animal husbandry among others.

She expressed confidence that farmers will turn up in large numbers and benefit fully from the show that is expected to be officially opened by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday

“I want to call on farmers from the North Rift region to come out in large numbers to receive training on technology that will help improve their yields,” she said.
